The NorCal Magic basketball program combines exposure and educational
services to give players the best opportunity to play college basketball.
Academic assistance is also provided to the players.

The NorCal Magic was started in 1992 by Coach Capus Hope. The team has since
evolved to include only the best varsity players in the Bay Area, mostly all
league caliber.
We usually play 30-40
games per year, from March through
September. We compete in the Slam
N Jam Spring League & Tournament,
the Eastlake YMCA Summer League
and various tournaments ( including the Bushrod
Easter Tournament, North
American Youth Sports Regionals,
Las Vegas Summer Classic, EBO/EA
Sports “ Sweet 16” , and
the “Jam On It “ Regionals. To

The Magic have won numerous championships and tournaments and have a
twelve-year
record of 340 wins and 70 losses, a winning percentage of 83%. To

The Club handles the documentation for the NCAA Clearinghouse and reviews
players’ transcripts to ensure classes meet NCAA guidelines for core subjects.
The Magic also arranges SAT/ACT prep classes and sends player profiles and
videotapes on behalf of team members. We give assistance to players and parents
in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Please go to High
