Lakers Runner up in 93 Labor Day Invitational in 2 Divisions

In the 16 yr. old division the NorCal Lakers fell 53-47 to Los Angeles B-Ball in the championship Game. NorCal placed J C Carter (Mt Eden) , Mickey Hope(James Logan) and Alvin Harrell (James Logan) on the All Tournament Team.

In the 17 yr. Old division the Lakers lost on a last second shot to Diablo Valley 48-46. Calvin Criddle (St. Joseph’s), Robert Grissom (Fremont) and Zarek Payton (Fremont) were named to the all Tournament Team. 6/93

Magic Runner-Up In Tournament of Champions-93

At the NorCal Tournament of Champions Run and Gun defeated the NorCal Magic 55-53 Calvin Criddle (St. Joseph's), Mickey Hope (James Logan) and Paul Driver (James Logan) all made the All Tournament Team.  Other stand out players included Miguel Garcia (James Logan) and J C Carter and Jorge Saliz (Mt. Eden) and Germaine Wilson (St. Joseph's) 3/93

Laker's Hope MVP At Labor Day Invitational-92

In the 15 Yr. old division championship game the NorCal Lakers held off Team D Break 57-54.  Both teams came out very patiently trying to work the ball inside against swarming Defenses.  But it was NorCal's "Little General" Mickey Hope who only stands 5'7" scored on layups straight from page 1 & 2 of Isaiah Thomas' book, "How to make your defender look really silly" and Hope had the last word by sinking 2 free throws that had the fat lady singing.  Hope was unanimously named MVP.  Hope avg. 14 pts & 9 asst during the tournament.  Peter Heizer (Acalanes) and J C Carter (Mt. Eden) made the All Tournament Team. 9/92

Thompson Leads Lakers to Labor Day Invitational-92

In the 16 yr. old division the NorCal Lakers beat the Jr. NBA All-Stars 65-64.  The Lakers used an effective motion offense to repeatedly create easy shots.  The Lakers were led by Tournament MVP Erenest Thompson (St. Joseph's) who avg. 17 pts per game through the Tourney.  Sean Williams (Berkeley) and Marcus Halliman (Redwood Christian) made the All Tournament Team.  9/92

Hope Wins MVP at UCLA Camp-92

NorCal Laker point guard Mickey Hope of James Logan HS took home the MVP award at the Jim Harrick/UCLA Basketball Camp.  Hope was first in the team championship and finished as runner up in the free-throws and one-on-one competition.  He avg. 22 pts & 8 assists over 7 games.  7/92

NorCal/South County All Stars Win Regional-92

In the 14-15 Yr. old division. The first Magic Team then known as the NorCal Lakers won the YBOA Regional Tournament held in Berkeley. All Tournament Selections were J C Carter (Mt Eden), Mickey Hope (James Logan), & Shea Emory (American-Fremont). Other team members were Jorge Saliz (Mt. Eden), Miguel Garcia (James Logan), Marcelle McFall (James Logan), Doug Ulrich (Moreau Catholic), James Lombardi (Moreau Catholic), Ryan Rodriguez (Washington-Fre) and Art Long (Kennedy). June 22-24, '92
