Magic Dominates Blue Chip Shootout - 95

At the Adidas Blue Chip shoot-out held at UC Berkeley, the Nor-Cal Magic was rated the top team. The Magic won against Marin 99-43, Monterey 74-32, Nor-Cal #1 81-59, and Berkeley 86-45. DeUndrae Perteete (Fremont HS) was named MVP. Also on the all shoot-out team was All State guard Eddie House (Hayward HS), Ben Hill (Castlemont HS), and Steve Moss-Kelly (Bishop O’Dowd). Other players included Dilone Richard (Berkeley HS), Alvin Harrell (James Logan), Sean Stevens (Hayward HS), Jamel Morrow (Oakland Tech), and Kevin Dixon (James Logan). The Magic finished with five players averaging in double figures and drew much attention from scouts and recruiters as they won by an average margin of forty points. 10/95

Magic Wins Labor Day Invitational – 94

The Nor Cal Magic won the boys varsity division at the Converse Labor Day Invitational. The Magic defeated Hayward 58-49. MVP was Robert Grissom(Fremont) and the All Tourney Selections were Mickey Hope (James Logan), Alvin Harrell (James Logan), J C Carter (Mt Eden) and Jorge Saliz (Mt Eden). Other team members were Charles Obichere (James Logan), Bill Pfister (James Logan), Kevin Dixon (James Logan), Frank Knight (Fremont), Richard Trevino (St. Joseph’s), Steve Moss-Kelly (B Odowd) and Lamar Turner (James Logan). 9/94

Magic Wins 94 California State Championship

The Nor Cal Magic won the YBOA (Youth Basketball Of America), California State Championships by defeating the Runnin Rebels of Oakland. Tournament MVP was Ron Selleaze of San Lorenzo High school, also on the All Tournament team was Leval Ramsey (San Lorenzo), Robert Grissom (Fremont) and Jamal Christie , the Playmakers Award. Other players included Aaron Prince (Castlemont), Marquette Alexander(Balboa-SF), Toby Merchant (San Lorenzo), Mike Quinney (Fremont), Kevin Escovolon (Tennyson) and Greg Johnson (Fairfield). Magic Wins ’94 Summer Jam

In the varsity division championship game of the NorCal Converse Summer Jam Basketball Tournament, the Nor Cal Magic defeated Run and Gun 55-47. J. C. Carter (Mt Eden), Steve Walker( Mt Eden), Mickey Hope (James Logan) and Richard Trevino (St. Joseph’s) were all selected to the All Tournament Team. 8/94
