Marquin Chandler Heads East

Marquin Chandler from Newark Memorial High School has signed with coach Tom Penders and George Washington University after visiting there this past week.  Chandler qualified with a 2.8 GPA and 990 on the SAT.

George Washington is a Division I institution located in Washington D.C. which competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

The 6-7 swingman averaged a double-double for the 1999-2000 season and was named to the All-MVAL and All-Metro teams.  He was also a Cal-Hi Sports Al State Second Team selection and Sports Focus Player of the year.

Since it is well past the National Letter of Intent signing period, Chandler signed a Financial Aid Agreement which binds the school  He is free to change his mind at any time but he is fully expected to enroll in the school this Fall.
