Magic 3rd in Bushrod Tourney
	Bushrod 2002 At the 37th Annual Bushrod Easter Tournament the NorCal Magic captured third place after winning this event the past two years. The Magic placed three players on the All Tournament team. Tim Pierce (Fremont of Oakland), John Sharper and DaShawn Freeman both of St. Mary’s in Berkeley. Other outstanding players were Rickey Williams (Hayward High), Rashaun Puryear and London Young both of Northgate. Ayinde Ubaka (Oakland Hi), Levar Halsell (San Leandro), Odioh Odiye (Sacred Heart ), Dante Sawyer (McAteer) and Rekalin Sims from DeLaSalle who only played in one game because of a back injury. The Magic beat The Oakland Hot Shots, lost to University of Bushrod. Then beat both Sudden Impact and the Oakland Runnin Rebels and then lost to The Running Rebels. The Rebels eventually lost to University of Bushrod in the Championship game. This event is considered the toughest Tournament in Northern California.
