MAGIC WINS REGIONAL

This past weekend in Modesto the NorCal Magic won the boy’s varsity division in the North American Youth Sports Summer Regional Basketball Tournament.  The Magic, who are the current Slam N Jam champions won this same tournament last year. 

The Magic reeled off a string of impressive wins in this tournament (5-0). Chris Green ( Castlemont ) and Armondo Surratt (Oakland Tech ) were named CO-MVP’s. Rickey Williams (Hayward ), LeVar Halsell (San Leandro) , and DaShawn Freeman (St Mary’s ) were all named to the All Tournament Team. Other Magic players were Darius Parker (Oakland High ), Jawaan Rubin (James Logan ), Clem Landrum ( Castlemont), John Sharper (St Mary’s ) ,Chris Busch ( San Leandro) and Robert Porter (Bishop Gorman, Las Vegas, NV). Team scores were Magic 82, Bayer Patriots 52. Magic 75, Sacramento 42. Magic 93, Jackson Kings 46. Magic 77, Central Valley 46. Magic 61, Modesto Outlawz 56.
