Former Magic Players in Junior Colleges
2003

RICKY WILLIAMS  1 /2  12

5’11

HAYWARD
All League, All Metro, Slam n Jam Super 100,NorCal Preps Top 40 (Sr)

Rated as one of the Best point guards in Northern California. A combination of speed and quickness and great acceleration from Ricky always puts pressure on the defense. Very talented , multi skilled, can score from anywhere……..major handles….can penny & dish with the best at this level,…  Can get up court in a hurry, has excellent vision. Getting off to a good start this season scoring about 28 pts per game for the Farmers. A special player really starting to develop. Should get D 1 looks

LONNIE ADDISON   1 /2 12  5’8  CASTLEMONT
All League , S N J Super 100, OAL Top Scorer
Nicked named "Man Man ", but the players in Vegas at the Summer Classic tabbed him "Baby Iverson" and he played like it , he avg.. 17pts over 5 games. Constantly pushing the ball to the basket from the wing and either scoring or getting fouled, and taking punishment like I haven’t seen from a player of his size, and then he would change the pace and go to trey’s and mid range pull jumpers. Man does not like to lose he has a winning attitude, that carries over to others. Will adjust to more serious point guard duties at the next level.
LONDON YOUNG   1/2/3 12   6’5

Northgate

Top 40 Nor Cal Preps, S N J Super 100 ,Skyline College Tournament-All Tourney, Pirate Holiday Classic-All Tourney

Could be the best, unknown guard in Northern Calif. Has major skills from the point position, excellent passing skills and vision, can handle defensive pressure and can penetrate to the basket with good vertical inside to score, deceptive to the basket. Very intelligent player, because of his size can and will play point forward as we employ that offensive scheme, some times we might even move London to 4. Have been encouraging London to be more offensive. Should get D 1 attention.

RASHAUN PURYEAR  1/3/ 4  12   6’8

Northgate

S N J Super 100, Skyline College Tournament- All Tournament Pirate Holiday Classic-MVP

Another player that stock has really risen, Rashaun has worked very hard to perfect his game to another level. He is not the same player as last year. Running the court better, scoring around the basket with a variety of moves that are working for him . His speed and intensity level has vastly improved.  Played big time in Vegas at Summer Classic. His scoring with the Magic has more than doubled since joining team. Has gotten off to a good start for the 2001-02 season, his was named MVP of the Pirate Holiday Classic while scoring 23 pts in final game. Has handles and will play some point forward when we go to that scheme.

KENNETH SMITH   2/3/4 12   6’4

OAKLAND TECH

North American Youth Sports-All Tourney, All League, S N J Super 100

Has the reputation as one of the top defensive players in Northern Calif. He can ignite a team from the defensive side , runs the court extremely well and has very quick hands and can block shots. Nicked named "Duce", he can also score, especially in the open court. Duce can also hit the 3 pt shot. Another player that doesn’t like to lose and takes it personal. Duce will work very well in our pressure defense. Can also rebound, has major hops.

CHRIS GREEN   3/ 4 12  6’5  CASTLEMONT
Las Vegas Summer Classic- All Tournament, S N J Super 100

Played big time in Vegas. Chris averaged 24 pts per game over 5 games.  He can play either the 3 or 4. Much stronger than he looks, a power rebounder with exceptional vertical. Excellent shot blocker for his size.  Very strong off the dribble, can also hit the 3 pt shot and the mid range J.  Another player that can ignite a team from either end of the court.
