MARIGNEY CONTINUES
TO EXCEL

Paul Marigney, a junior at Saint Mary’s in Moraga, has been a stand-out in San Francisco’s ProCity basketball league. He averaged 29 points per game in his first three ProCity games. He’s shooting 50 percent from the field, making everything from the outside, and driving the lane to keep teams totally off balance. This all seems great, especially considering Marigney’s season was cut short last year when he suffered a torn ACL in a game against Pepperdine on February 9. Because of this he had to sit out a year and Redshirt. At the time of his unfortunate injury, Marigney was averaging 11.3 points per game as a reserve coming of the bench and giving the team new life. He was also averaging 4.2 rebounds and ranked 16th in scoring among teams in the West Coast Conference. By the finished the 2001-2002 season, many nation-wide polls has him listed in the top 15 candidates for the best sixth-man award in the NCAA. He has finished the ProCity league as the top scorer. Marigney is one of the most creative players on the court, happy to drop bombs from beyond the 3-point arc or to find an open baseline and work his way to the hoop. Paul finish the season as the leading scorer in the Pro-Am League @ 29.0 per game.
