DOMINIQUE MAKES ALL STATE

Dominique Watson is a junior, 6’0, combo guard from Mojave High School in Las Vegas , the City runner-up to Palo Verde.  Dominique is very explosive off the dribble and makes penetrating look easy.  He has amazing vertical for his size.  He can block anybody’s  shot, especially a guard.  Dominique has been with the Magic for 2 years during the summer travel months and has been one of our top players.

At Mojave this past season, Dominique averaged 15 pts per game and helped Mojave win runner-up in the city. For his efforts he was named to the All Conference Team and to the All State Team.  At the 2004 Nike National Championships, the  Magic went 5-1 and finished in 6th Place.  Dominique finished 2nd in team scoring @ 12.5 (Kevin Tyler @ 13.3   and Rob Mitchell @ 11.5, both of Berkeley High) as the Magic finished with 5 players averaging in double figures.  Dominique played outstanding the entire tournament  with a high game of 24 pts. He played tough defense, rebounded, created steals and was a team leader on the court.  Offensively he couldn’t be stopped  with his penetration to the basket and finishing.   Dominique is a very good low to mid D1 pick. Stock could rise if Mojave takes City and State in 2005. They will be good, Darnell Grier of Mojave also plays with us.  He’s a 6’4 wing (soph) who has a lot of talent and can rebound and bang inside and hit the outside shot.
