Summer MVP - Kevin Tyler

Kevin Tyler is a 6’7 senior at  Berkeley High
All League  and SlamNJam Super 100

Although we didn’t play our full Summer schedule in 2004, I was very happy with the talent that the Magic had recruited.  Especially Berkeley’s Kevin Tyler.  Kevin is a prime time player.

His scoring and rebounding leads The Magic.  He averaged 13.2 pts per game in Rumble On the Bay  and  at  the Nike National Championships in Las Vegas and probably a double in rebounds.

At 6’7, Kevin is a natural small forward (3), but plays the 4/5 in our motion offense, that  allows him room to step out and hit the 3 pointer.  He’s very  smooth off the dribble  and has a variety of moves to get to the basket.  A strong  finisher, he works very hard in practice and the hard work is paying off. Plays  very good defense and is a good shot blocker, especially closing from the wing.  Has outstanding baseline moves to the basket and can finish in traffic. Good work ethic.  The Magic Staff is very excited about SlamNJam 2005 league and Championships. We’ve finished runner-up  the past 2 years, losing to Soldiers 1 and The Runnin Rebels.  We think Kevin is going to lead us to another Championship .  Kevin is a mid to low D 1 prospect and would be  a valuable addition to any D 1 program.
