After helping SJCC finished 2nd in the State and making All Conference last season Jamal is off to a hot start avg. 23 pts per game and ranked 4th in the State (1/5/02) in scoring.  Jamal is also ranked in the top ten in free throw shooting. I have no doubt that SJCC will again make it to the California State Finals in March and Jamal will be a big part of it.  Jamal consistently hits the big shot a crunch time. Can always get to the basket and always gets a good look. Quick and athletic. Jamal split point guard duties with Paul Marigney ( ST. Mary’s ) on 99 Nike Summer Classic Championship Team. In high school at El Cerrito Jamal was named All League, All Metro, Fox Sports Top 50 California and 99 Nike Summer Classic MVP and a host of All Tourney selections. A good defensive player, Jamal has a lot of up side to his game. Was named MVP at the recent Chabot College Gladiator Classic Tournament. Expecting big things from him. Wants the ball when game is on the line.  A 2/3
MIKE MITANGI           5’10        SOPH                    Diablo Valley College
Mike played at Long Beach Wilson and Castlemont (Oakland) where he was named All League At both schools. An outstanding point guard that can run the court with the best, more like a true point guard that can score, in fact scoring has improved. Can hit the big shot when it’s needed. Very strong off the dribble and in the open court. Very tough from the defensive end, can shut down the opposing guard.

Brendan has that long range shooting ability to go with his excellent shooting…can shoot off the dribble. Has no problem creating his own shot and getting to the basket….a good team player, passes well and moves well without the ball.

JELANI WILLIAMS       6’4      SOPH         LOS MEDANOS C C
A transferee from Portland St, played high school ball at Pittsburg. Could very well be one of the best defensive players to wear a Magic jersey. Has major hops and can rebound with the best For his size…can hit the 3 point shot…can also score off the dribble. We always wanted Jelani To have the ball at crunch time. Good shot blocker...tremendous vertical and quick. Currently avg.. 14 pts and 9 rebs a game at LMC. Could be a valuable asset for the right team. Very athletic. Should go D 1.
