Beef Brown To San Jose State

 

Former Magic player Harry “Beef” Brown“,  6’7”  of San Francisco CC has signed a letter of commitment to San Jose St Univ.  The former Hercules High School  player was named the Contra Costa County MVP in 2002. He was also named to the Cal High Sports All State Team.  League MVP and the All Metro Team( Oak-SF).  In 2003 was named to the NorCal Magic Top 8.  

 

Harry Brown, a forward/guard for City College of San Francisco, and Julian Richardson, a guard from South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, have signed a National Letter-of-Intent and plan to enroll at San Jose State University for the 2005-06 academic year. Phil Johnson, the men’s basketball head coach of the Spartans made the announcement.

Brown, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound sophomore from Baltimore, was a second-team all-conference selection last season. Thirteenth in the Coast Conference in scoring, he averaged 12.0 points and 5.3 rebounds a game and made 53.7 percent of his field goal tries in 2003-04. The graduate of Hercules (Calif.) High School averaged 21 points,11.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists his senior season as his team advanced to the 2003 California Division IV High School Championship game.

Richardson, is a 6-foot-1 guard from Miami, Fla. He is sixth nationally in assists among NJCAA Division I players this season averaging 8.1 per game as his team has raced to a 6-2 win-loss record. As a freshman in 2003-04, Richardson averaged 5.7 points, 3 assists and 2.1 rebounds a game. He helped his team post a 24-8 win-loss record and advance to the NJCAA Region V Tournament.
