Magic Runner-Up in Las Vegas '05

The Nike sponsored “National Youth Basketball Championships” held in Las Vegas , July 26th thru 31, featured some of the top traveling AAU teams in the world. The NorCal Magic finished runner-up in the Silver division. There were 84 teams participating in this week long ncaa sanctioned event held at UNLV ( University of Nevada @ Las Vegas). Making the Magic All Tournament team were Terrance Wilder (McClymonds), Ben Washington ( Newark Memorial) and Travis Stuman (Coronado-Vegas). We also got outstanding play from Chris Gokey , ( Fremont , Sunnyvale ), Pat Dreith (Hillsdale-San Mateo) and Greg Brizendine ( El Cerrito ). Other team members were Devanae Leach Phillip Thomas both from Skyline. The Magic posted wins over the Arizona Blaze, Kansas City Rebels, the Colorado Jam and the Idaho Stars. Our loses were against the Nevada Dogs, the Oklahoma Tornado’s and in the finals to the Arizona Stars.

Scoring was pretty balanced:

	Pat Dreith 8.9
	Chris Gokey 8.9
	Devanae Leach 7.1
	Phillip Thomas 5.9
	Greg Brizendine 4.0
